Jammin, we're jammin, I hope you like jam too (sorry but it's in my head)

Recipe

4lbs fresh allotment picked plums
4lbs preserving sugar
1 pint water

Softened plums in the pint of water on a low simmer. Sugar was added and stirred until dissolved and then turned up to get a rolling boil (only know what that looks like from watching Hugh Fearnly whittywhatty chappy). Took about 15-20 minutes to get to setting point and tried out the plates in the freezer technique.

The mess made and the amount of tea towels I went through (wash day is getting longer) was well worth it, the plum jam is lovely. The allotment is a lot of hard work and we three are not the most committed of folk but our efforts have paid off for a second year running and we realise why we have one. The fruit and veg we grow is second to none.

And another close up of the lovely stuff
Just look at that hint of pink!

And all from this.... my lovely plum tree (photo not so great)

It's so heavily laden with fruit at the moment that i'm inviting friends to come and pick their own to take home. Angela, Vicky if you are reading this - this weekend for picking!  HOWEVER, not the strawberries, Jacob would never forgive me.
